Fundamental Baptist Church of Tristeza

Our City: Porto Alegre is the capital of our state and has over 3,000,000 inhabitants. Our church is located in an area easily accessed by public transportation from every part of the city of Porto Alegre . Our churches are only touching the surface of the needs for church planting in this the third largest city in Brazil.

Our History: Tristeza is very special to FBMSB because on September 7, 1988 our ministry began here. Roger and Sharon started in their home which is now the church. God would bless as souls would be saved and added each Sunday. To God's glory this church has seen four of our key Brazilian pastors saved, called, and sent to plant other churches. Others are currently in the process. So goes our mission, "Planting churches and training church planters that will support church planting"

Dr. Roger Crowder is presently residing over this flock while a national is being prepared to take this church in the near future.

Prayer Request:

1. Saturday Evangelism.

2. Discipleship of many new believers.

3. Our Deacons: André and Eduardo

4. More laborers for the harvest fields.

Praises:

November 2004, André was elected as Vice President of Fundamental Baptist Ministries of southern Brazil. He is replacing Mike Ring who is moving on to more intense church planting ministry. André has proved himeself in the office of deacon and treasurer for quite some time. André is currently a student at the Seminary and desires to Pastor one day. Pray for him and his family as they will be vital for the future of our ministries here in Brazil.
